St James’s Church, Piccadilly

St James’s Church Piccadilly has been at the heart of the community since 1684. It is a Sir Christopher Wren Church, steeped in History. Prime Ministers and significant individuals have been part of its history as well as a long tradition of Royal connections. Within the church is the magnificent organ gifted to the church in 1691 by King William III and Queen Mary II. Artistic greats such as Handel and Grinling Gibbons are associated with the church as well as people who have helped shaped our world such as Isaac Newton and William Black, all contributing to the history of this unique space which is St James’s Piccadilly.

THE SANCTUARY

Often used as a performance space of the highest international standard, it can accommodate up to 500 audience members and up to 100 performers in front of the Altar. Newly installed lighting and sound equipment replicates professional conditions for recording and broadcasting your performance or conference.

As well as performances, the Sanctuary is a unique setting for your dinner or drinks reception.

THE WREN TABLE

Specially commissioned to mark the upcoming 300th Anniversary of St Christopher Wren, the unique table, placed in front of the Altar, provides a truly magnificent experience for guests at dinner. Facing outward into the sanctuary, guests are treated to the view of the magnificent great organ. Facing inward, guests are provided the most spectacular Grinling Gibbons surround to the Altar.

THE COURTYARD & SOUTHWOOD GARDEN

Our beautiful courtyard and garden is a welcoming space that welcomes over 10,000 visitors every week. The Courtyard is a stylish and spacious venue full of original features, overlooked by the stunning Southwood Garden. Exhibitions often take place as well and as well as being an historic film location, it’s large open space often hosts corporate drinks receptions to product launches, it’s historic and elegant setting offers flexible and a celebratory environment.
