Shoreditch Electric is home to the National Centre for Circus Arts, one of Europe’s leading charities providing circus education. All commercial revenue from hiring Shoreditch Electric goes back into the running of the National Centre for Circus Arts.

Environmental Credentials

Electric Studio have an environmental policy in place, recently installed solar panels, LED lighting and double glazing. Furthermore, they attained an outstanding debut “Creative Industry Green certification in 2014/15” from Julie’s Bicycle and were awarded two stars in recognition of their commitment to managing their carbon emissions and improving their environmental impacts.

Generating Chamber

A large space with a 280 sqm floor area, the chamber retains some of the period industrial features of the building’s former life as a power station. Exposed red brick creates a warm atmosphere complemented by natural light. The freestanding roof allows all of the floor space to be used.

Combustion Chamber

The Courtyard

The courtyard is an unusually large exterior space for Central London, making an attractive, self-contained area for events as well as providing excellent access for loading in from Coronet St and Hoxton Square.

With access to Hoxton Square and Coronet Street. It provides excellent get in and delivery access to the venue, parking or an outdoor event area. Large double doors lead directly to the Combustion Chamber and a series of glass doors provide access to the courtyard from the Lower Link Studio.

As part of an event, Electric Studio can accommodate street food vans, tents and outdoor tables.

Creation Studio

A purpose-built rehearsal studio for circus, theatre and dance. It’s adjacent to the Combustion Chamber, so can be used as a smaller meeting room, breakout space or catering prep space. Exceptional natural light is provided by the large windows, and the space can be easily adapted to full or semi blackout.

Middle Studio

A small to medium sized room ideal as additional space for larger hires. Perfect for use as breakout/VIP room. The rigging points, exposed brickwork and lighting conditions make this a versatile studio and a popular choice for photo shoots.

Lower Link Studio

An open spacious room that links the Generating Chamber and the Combustion Chamber. Large double doors open out into the courtyard. The room has a polished wooden floor and recessed lighting in the ceiling. Ideal as a hospitality area for events in the Generating Chamber and Combustion Chamber, or as a breakout space.
