The Serpentine is one of the most widely recognised organisations in global contemporary art, design and architecture. Championing new ideas since it opened in 1970, the Serpentine has presented pioneering exhibitions of 2,000 artists, architects and designers over 50 years, showing a wide range of work, from emerging practitioners to the most internationally recognised artists and architects of our time.
Based across two sites Serpentine provides the perfect backdrop for any occasion. Located within the historic landscape of Kensington Gardens, Serpentine venues including South, North and the Magazine can be hired all year round as a unique venue for all types of events, including corporate receptions, product launches, fashion shows and private functions.

SERPENTINE NORTH GALLERY
The Serpentine North Gallery is a former 1805 Grade II listed gunpowder store, opened in 2013, returning it to public use for the first time in its 208-year history.
The spacious perimeter and two rectangular ‘powder rooms’ present a wonderful setting for drinks receptions and smaller dinners.
Capacities in the space vary dependent on the exhibition in place at the time; however, the venue’s standard maximum standing capacities range from between 100–200, and seated dinner capacities can be for a maximum of 40 in one powder room.
For larger parties, the adjoining Magazine restaurant can be incorporated, accommodating standing receptions across the site for up to 500, and seated dinners for up to 120.

SERPENTINE SOUTH GALLERY
The Serpentine South Gallery was established in 1970 and is housed in a Grade II-listed former tea pavilion built in the 1930s by architect James Grey West.
The interconnecting galleries make it ideal for a large reception and easy to adapt for smaller groups and seated dinners.
Capacities in the space vary dependent on the exhibition in place at the time; however, the venue’s standard maximum standing capacities range from between 100–200, and seated dinner capacities can be for up to 60 in the North Gallery.
